Fall and Winter are a time for celebrating and sharing our abundance with family, friends and strangers.  If you know anyone suffering from any type of mental illness and/or addiction who needs resources and help, call your local NAMI affiliate or check out www.nami.org. The National Alliance on Mental Illness affiliates do a lot of good, are professional and primarily self-funded, and connect families facing common issues with each other and community resources. Recommended is the 12-week Family to Family series. Last September 2014 NAMI held its National Convention in Washington, D.C. where members lobbied for the passage of HR-3717, the most comprehensive health care legislation to ever be put forth.  See www.nami.org for the scope of that bill.  Get involved, make a call or e-mail to your Senators and Congressman and urge them to support it!
